What do pizzas and vinyl records have in common? One, they both evoke a sense of communal sharing, according to Danny Loong, co-founder and chief creative director of the Timbre Group, which runs the music venue chain famous for its home-made pizzas. And two, they are both 12 inches in diameter (at least for Timbre's pizzas), hence the decision to christen his latest concept eatery 12" Pizza. He says of the 300-seater joint located in V Hotel in Lavender that opened this week: "A pizzeria is a place where people gather in a relaxed, informal setting, much like back in the day, when people would take the time to sit around the music player with friends whenever someone bought a new vinyl."
