Soups galore at Min Jiang at Goodwood Park Hotel

Min Jiang has been one of the most established Chinese restaurants in our era, and they have recently decided to go back to the base of Cantonese cuisine - the soup. At a recent tasting, I had a chance to try five of their offerings, and what I would conclude is that the soups ($12 per portion) are not overpowering with a good balance of herbs and ingredients. Need some calmness in this hectic lifestyle? Then go for the Chicken Soup with Kudzu Root and Poria. Dried oyster is also added which gives it a slightly bitter finish but the soup does well to sooth. Looking for something heavier? The Dendrobium Soup with Cassia Seeds is a dark intense soup that apparently removes "heat" from the body and is designed to replenish lost fluids. Those wanting fish in their soup would have to look no further than the Doubled Boiled Fish Head Soup with 'Chuan Xiong' and 'Tian Ma'. Freshw...
