Shabu Shabu On-Yasai – Japanese Hotpot Buffet at CHIJMES
Shabu Shabu On-Yasai has 196 outlets in Japan, and opened its first two in Singapore at CHIJMES and OneKM, serving thinly sliced meats and vegetables. On-Yasai means ‘warm vegetables’ in Japanese, and indeed my group of friends went over and ordered multiple rounds of greens and mushrooms. It was UNLIMITED. The Japanese restaurant offers both ala carte and buffet options, and the latter can be the much better deal for your money’s worth. They have recently categorised their buffet options: $29.90++ for Standard Buffet (includes pork belly, pork collar, chicken tsumire and thigh); $39.90++ for Value Buffet (with the addition of beef chuck and eye roll) and $54.90++ for Premium Buffet (wagyu brisket, kurogegyu beef shoulder).
