Good KL style black hokkien mee or "Tai Lok Mein" is difficult to find in Singapore. I meant the type with good ingredients, where many stalls in KL just fry it work pork fat, oil, black sauce and a token piece of pork. I take every opportunity to eat a Big Eater since I'm staying in the West of Singapore. Ambience: They've expanded to three shop lots now, when we first started eating there, they only occupied the corner lot with a patio facing the canal. Business is good. Still comfortable, large tables. Food: We ordered the KL black noodles - small portion, which was good enough for 2-3 pax. It is the best KL style noodles we've tasted, bettering the one at Kong Kee in Geylang and the House of Peranakan along East Coast.
