FOOD REVIEW | Peach Garden Sichuan at Miramar Hotel: Authentic Sichuan, easy on the heat

– the restaurant chain best known for its Cantonese cuisine and, in particular, its roasted slices of crisp suckling pig – has done it again. Its fifth instalment in the Lion City, Peach Garden Sichuan, is squirreled away on the third storey of the worn-down Miramar Hotel. But if the building has clearly seen better days, this new restaurant is all glitzy glass chandeliers and thick carpets in a spacious, darkwood-colonnaded dining room framed by peach tree-imprinted screens. But don’t arrive expecting tongue-numbing and lip-scorching Chengdu- or Chongqing-style dishes drowned in chilli oil, chillis and peppercorn.
