ART | Is $30 for adults and $17 for children, too expensive to get into Marina Bay Sands' new ArtScience Museum?

published on Jan 24 2011 - 17:25 The permanent exhibition at this spectacular new space, displayed in English and Mandarin, is designed to set the mind thinking about the nature of how we define art and science. Among the exhibits that help with the process are Leonardo da Vinci’s Flying Machine, a Kongming Lantern and an Ancient Chinese Scroll. This 6,000 sq m lotus-shaped museum is all of three floors, holding within it 21 galleries, and is surrounded by 4,000 sq m of reflecting pool. A total of ten ‘fingers’ make up the finger building, each finger leading to a unique gallery space that allows natural light to filter through and illuminate the walls. Its permanent exhibition is housed in three rooms: 'Curiosity', 'Inspiration’ and ‘Expression’. Go ponder. Cost: $30 adult, $17 children.
