Born in the Isle of Wight – an island off the south coast of England – Joe Bone, 30, created a fictitious character called Bruce Bane when he was at university, which has since taken a life of its own and now exists in a three-part play, with a fourth sequel in the works. Bone plays all 40-or-so characters in each show – he holds the current Guinness World Record for most characters played by an actor on stage – while his partner in crime, Ben Roe, 29, strums a guitar to provide all the music. 1 Bone came up with the concept of Bane when he was messing around at home during his university years: ‘I just started talking in the American drawl and then started talking to myself as other characters, and ended up using the character for a five-minute piece for an exam.
