Artists have given vintage Chinese vinyls a twisted modern edge in kult's latest exhibition, kicking off on March...

Nothing is exempt from design studio Kult’s high-voltage visual vagabondry. In their latest undertaking, they’ve handed 25 local and international artists – including Eric Foenander and Atomic K – various vintage Chinese vinyl sleeves, imbibing them to give the dated designs a bold modern nip ‘n’ tuck. The reincarnated records, transformed through drawing, collaging, silkscreening and painting, will be flaunted at Chinatown Vinyl Squad , a cosy exhibition fittingly housed in dim sum-dishing bar Zui Hong Lou. And for the opening gala, these folks will be closing off the street for a bustlin’ block party on March 29, featuring music by the funk-fledged Pushin’ On crew and live screenprinting sessions. Now that’s what we call being good hosts!
