We had a chat with quirky British indie rockers Bombay Bicycle club before their gig at the end of this month

Ah, Bombay Bicycle Club – the quirky British indie rockers who named themselves after a chain of Indian restaurants in the UK. Formed by Jack Steadman (vocals), Jamie MacColl (guitar) and Suren de Saram (drums) at the age of 15 as a hobby in their spare time, the group later added bassist Ed Nash to solidify their line-up. And after winning a competition to open the 2006 V Festival, they dropped their debut EP, The Boy I Used to Be , in early 2007. ‘We should have taken more time to try and think of a better band name to start off with,’ laughs de Saram of the band’s early years. ‘Back then, we had no idea we’d still be a band this far down the line, so we didn’t think much of it.
