Local filmmaker Jacky Lee, 26, gives us his pick on the most evocative spots in Singapore.

Jacky Lee has contributed his cinematic skills to top local indie films such as Royston Tan’s 12 Lotus and Kelvin Tong’s Kidnapper . A part-time lecturer at Temasek Polytechnic’s School of Design, he’s currently working on a coming-of-age romantic comedy which is due to start filming this March. ‘The HDB Tampines Stockpile (Tampines Ave 10) is where the Housing Development Board [HDB] stores its sand, and it’s the closest thing you’ll find to a sand dune in the city. There’s no way you can miss it driving down the road, though it is a restricted site.’ ‘Junkie’s Corner (94 Jln Senang; 9791 2607) is one of my favourite places in town to pick up vintage furniture or home decorations for a period film.
