Remove the fat and sinew from the beef, then dice it. Transfer to a casserole dish or large ovenproof dish. 2 Heat the beef stock, then add it to the casserole dish together with the water, flour, mixed herbs and salt. Mix well before adding the onions and carrots. Place the dish in an oven preheated to 160 deg C. Cook the casserole for 1 1/2 hours until the beef is tender. Remove from oven and set aside to cool to room temperature. 3 To make the pie pastry, combine the salt, flour and butter in a mixer, and mix for 20sec until the butter becomes crumbly. Add water slowly, and mix until the dough starts taking shape. Knead the dough for 2min until it becomes smooth.
