THE UPDATED PHOTO ON TNP'S WEBSITE. PHOTO CREDIT: TNP.COM This is not the first time local newspapers have come under fire for using such graphic photos. Recently, in another article run by TNP on Sep 3 about the brutal murder of three men, one of the photographs featured was a graphic image of a man soaked in blood. This raises an important question: When it comes to publishing photos, how far should the media go in reflecting the violence and trauma of an incident? PHOTOJOURNALISM IS A STRUGGLE BETWEEN PUBLISHING GOOD PHOTOS AND RESPECTING THE DIGNITY OF OTHERS. 19-year-old Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) student, Joed Yip felt that these photos can be insensitive to the feelings of the victim's family.
