It was supposed to be a regular day for the team. They were working on a grave side burial and were glad that they would soon bring closure to another grieving family. All of a sudden, one of their colleagues collapsed by the grave side. He had suffered a heart attack, and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Within four hours, his body was sent back to his workplace, Serenity Casket, for embalming. For Nicole Chong, 22, embalming a dear friend was one of the hardest things she had ever done. Nicole, who came close to tears as she recounted this incident, said solemnly: "I didn't want to do it at first. But I was encouraged by my mentor, Sarah, that if I didn't harden myself and do it, he would be sent to another embalming facility and I would never know if his body was treated properly.
