The English duo, consisting of James Hatcher and Andy Clutterbuck, have been quietly building a fanatical fanbase with their electronic-inflected brand of soul, bringing influences of ’70s and ’80s funk into present day sonics. During their recent visit hosted by Moonbeats Asia , the humble and hilarious pair sat down with us for a round of Artiste vs. Artiste , in which they comment on working with Hot Chip, Nao’s impeccable musicianship, and James Blake’s notoriously loud bass levels.
