Singapore's public transport system to go fully cashless by 2020

SINGAPORE - Singapore's public transport network is set to go fully cashless by 2020, with all bus and train rides to be paid using travel cards and top-ups performed without physical cash. The first cashless rail line will be the Thomson-East Coast Line, which will open from 2019. These are Admiralty, Bedok, Bukit Panjang, Buona Vista, Farrer Park, HarbourFront, Hougang, Lakeside, Pasir Ris, Serangoon and Yew Tee.
