Going red to mark #WorldHeartDay

The Helix Bridge glowing red last night, in support of World Heart Day. Other landmarks that will be lit up in red until tomorrow include the Singapore Flyer and Fullerton Hotel. Organised by the Singapore Heart Foundation, the eye-catching spectacle is aimed at raising awareness of cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death worldwide. Last year, 29.5 per cent of all deaths in Singapore were a result of cardiovascular disease. Global landmarks, such as the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt and Table Mountain in South Africa, will also turn red to mark the occasion.
