Art Stage Singapore ‘Re-Reading Landscape (Melting Memories)’ by Indonesian artist Jumaldi Alfi SINGAPORE – As other art fairs emphasize their global credentials, Art Stage Singapore this year is doubling down on Southeast Asia, with a particular focus on fast-growing Indonesia. Of the 131 galleries and other exhibitors showing at the event, which started Thursday and runs through the weekend, 23 have an outpost in Singapore. The fair for the first time has created a dedicated space for Indonesian art, showing works by abstract painter Jumaldi Alfi and Heri Dono, who paints and sculpts figures inspired by American cartoons, and will showcase the country’s galleries there as well.
