Having started out with teen pop group Super Monkeys at just 15 years old, Namie Amuro has made her permanent mark on the Japanese music scene and is bringing that mark to the Singapore Indoor Stadium on April 16, 2013. Amuro’s career began with the debut of her single “Body Feels EXIT” in October 1995, followed by her second single “Chase the Chance” released just two months later. Her second single became her first No. 1 million-selling single, for which she also won the Golden Arrow Award in the same year. She soon introduced top singles such as “Don't Wanna Cry,” "You're My Sunshine" and "A Walk in the Park" to the airwaves, all of which sold over a million copies each. In 1996, Amuro won the “Grand Prix Award”, the highest honor at the Japan Record Awards, for "Don't Wanna Cry", making her the youngest artist to have won the award.
