Singapore's newest restaurant doesn't want Michelin to review it

Yesterday, The English House—the latest concept by acclaimed chef and restaurateur Marco Pierre White, and his first restaurant in Asia—officially opened its doors in Singapore . The restaurant serves (spoiler alert!) modern British fare—like upgraded fish and (beef fat) chips —in a colonial atmosphere, complete with lush fig trees and 19th-century antique furniture. However, you won't see Michelin inspectors among the initial crowds, reports Eater . White told Channel News Asia that he passed when the guide asked if he wanted The English House to be considered for upcoming guides. And thus, the saga of big name chefs distancing themselves from Michelin continues.
