Curry helps ward off colorectal cancer, the number one cancer in Singapore

Tests that help in early detection of colorectal cancer include the Faecal Immunochemical Test (also known as FIT) test and colonoscopy. A colonoscopy is by far the most accurate method for colon cancer screening. it examines both right and left colon and usually takes between 10 to 30 minutes. It's commonly done under sedation. For the ‘average risk’ individuals, this test is recommended once every 10 years. For ‘high risk’ individuals with a personal or family history of colon polyps or cancer, it's suggested that they go for a colonoscopy starting 10 years prior to the youngest affected family member or when they reach 50 years old, whichever is earlier.
