BIG multinational firms gave the thumbs up to Singapore's strategy in attracting and retaining companies here, saying that Singapore has many competitive advantages. The members of a high-powered panel advising the Economic Development Board (EDB) said that the Republic continues to keep its strategy of anchoring foreign firms here and also to extend into new niche areas. These include building capabilities in data management and analytics, green manufacturing and becoming an Asian thought leader in finance and economics. Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean, who chairs the advisory council, said that the the fast-changing world provides many challenges and opportunities for Singapore.
