SINGAPORE: The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) is set to increase the seed funding for the local clubs in the S.League. The exact amount will be revealed later this week. The good news was announced by the chairmen from five S.League clubs. This is timely as the 2010 season saw quite a few clubs struggling financially to manage their operations. Also being reworked are the fixtures for the 2011 season and more matches will be played at the clubs' own stadiums. This will enable more of their supporters to be present. All local clubs will also help with developing more younger players at the Centres of Excellence. John Yap, chairman of Gombak United FC, said: "The reintroduction of COEs (Centres of Excellence) on a compulsory basis for all clubs going forward....the addition of the new club Tanjong Pagar....essentially will open up many more vacancies for local playe...
