UFL moves Florida franchise to Virginia - TODAYonline
ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - The United Football League says the Florida Tuskers will cease operations and relocate to Norfolk as the expansion Virginia Destroyers. The UFL made the announcement Wednesday, adding that Tuskers coach Jay Gruden, staff and the team's protected players will make the move as well. The Tuskers played home games in the Citrus Bowl in Orlando and advanced to the UFL championship game each of the past two seasons. The Destroyers will begin play at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex this year. Gruden fills an opening created when the UFL announced Joe Moglia will coach the Omaha Nighthawks instead of the Destroyers. Former NFL quarterback Doug Williams is the Destroyers' general manager.
