Girl sitting on edge of MRT platform: SBS Transit to conduct safety talks at schools

SBS Transit has identified the girl who sat on the edge of an LRT station platform to pose for photos and brought the incident to the attention of her school. The agency urges the public to avoid such dangerous acts. STOMPer Jordan had first alerted STOMP to the photos which he came across online, commenting that it was immature of the girl to endanger her life by sitting on the edge of the platform. Ms Tammy Tan, Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications, SBS Transit, said in a response to the story: "We are alarmed by the actions of the young lady, who probably did what she did for the thrill factor. "Sitting on the train platform edge is potentially life-threatening as she could have fallen onto the tracks - which are charged with high electrical voltage.
