Irish national Diana Mary Scanlon, who tried to open an airplane door in mid-flight, was granted a discharge amounting to an acquittal after psychiatric evaluation. -- ST FILE PHOTO BY THE time Ms Diana Mary Scanlon boarded the Singapore Airlines flight from Munich to Singapore on Nov 30 last year, it had been a few weeks since she had last taken her medication for bipolar disorder. At about 7am that day, her illness likely acted up. That was when the 28-year-old Irish national walked to the airplane door in mid-flight and tried to open it.
