BANGKOK - Thailand's new Cabinet line-up, which is dominated by Ms Yingluck Shinawatra's Puea Thai party, received mixed reactions yesterday as it was sworn in by King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The new Prime Minister appointed a market-friendly former central banker as Finance Minister, which should help soothe fears about her populist campaign pledges. The 35-member team includes some ministers seen as moderates close to both her self-exiled brother, former Premier Thaksin Shinawatra, and his enemies among the military and royalist establishment. New Finance Minister Thirachai Phuvanatnaranubala was among a handful of non-party outsiders in a Cabinet that appears to have been selected to appease all sides in a country that has gone through six years of sometimes bloody political upheaval.
