[TR] Update 9 – Global Economies Heading For Turbulence, Watch Out China

Base metal prices had been falling for much of the last 6 months even as the US dollar is falling instead of moving in the opposite direction. The reasons included among many – the Chinese have been destocking their stockpile of base metals. Rising industrial & infrastructural construction demand from recovering economies globally, excluding China, have not kept pace evidencing global recovery momentum had been dogged by Fukushima tragedy and the aftermath of political crisis in Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Global economies were struggling, feeling the impact of Fukushima’s natural disaster and MENA’s political turmoil, and in China, the slowdown of economic activity consequent upon increasing tightening of banking credit. This author has no recollection of major natural disaster having no durable impact on global economies – Cyclone Yasi (Feb. 2011), Chilean earth...
