From a reader: I was woken up at 6.37am by an SMS alert from a condo developer. Are marketers crossing the line nowadays?

I WAS woken up last Wednesday morning at 6.37am by an SMS alert, and was surprised to note that it was from the developer of The Urbanite condominium. While I have grown to accept that anyone who owns a mobile phone will be continually disturbed by unsolicited SMS advertisements, I never expected SMSes would be sent at such times. Six-plus on a weekday morning is the time when people are still sleeping. Or they may be busy readying their children for school, or preparing themselves for work. Insensitive advertisers who send SMSes during such times not only annoy recipients but also disrupt their routines. When advertisers become too desperate to push their messages to potential customers and start using irresponsible tactics, do consumers have to give in to their aggressiveness?
