PM Lee ‘promised’ more scholarships and bursaries for local students #sgpolitics

In other developed countries, foreigners have to pay through their noses to get a place in their universities, but in Singapore, generous scholarships paid for using taxpayers’ monies are handed to foreigners on a platter. Despite the rising public disquiet and unhappiness at the PAP’s pro-foreigner education policies which were implemented by former Education Minister Tony Tan in the 1980s, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will not cut the intake of foreign student. Speaking during the National Day Rally last night, PM Lee said foreign student enrolments will be capped at the current levels, which is 18 percent of the annual intake. The figure may actually be higher as PRs lumped together with citizens in all the official statistics used by the PAP.
