Singaporeans 'did more business travel than others in region'

SINGAPORE - Singaporeans are travelling more than their Asia-Pacific counterparts for business, ranking second only to Hong Kong, according to a MasterCard survey released yesterday. The survey found that 43 per cent of Singaporeans made at least one business trip in the last 12 months, while 12 per cent made more than three trips. Hong Kong saw a similar pattern, with 48 per cent making at least one business trip in the past year and 18 per cent making more than three times trips. The survey also found that 29 per cent of respondents in South Korea, 27 per cent in Taiwan, 21 per cent in Australia and 13 per cent in Japan travelled at least once for business in the past year. The MasterCard Survey on Consumer Purchasing Priorities - Travel was conducted from March last year to April this year, and involved 17,620 respondents from 14 markets across the Asia-Pacific region. ...
