World's most viewed photograph on display in Singapore

When I was invited to the unveiling of the "World's Most Viewed Photograph" in Singapore earlier in 2013, I was sceptical to say the least. Press releases often oversell their products. So when I attended the actual unveiling at 28 Fevrier - a gallery at Jalan Kilang fast gaining popularity among younger art collecters - I was pleasantly surprised that the photo indeed lived up to the hype. Taken by National Geographic photographer Charles O'Rear, this famous photograph titled "Bliss", was snapped in Napa Valley, California, and as Microsoft claims, has been viewed more than a billion times. Famed as the default photo for any computer on the Microsoft XP operating system, this shot - taken by O'Rear five years before Windows rolled out the OS - is actually untouched or digitally altered.
