A stint in the police force was all Goh Chin Hou needed to realise that he had found a lifelong career. The 19-year-old was the only recipient of the Singapore Police Force (SPF) Overseas Scholarship in a ceremony held at the Istana on Thursday. He told reporters that the three-day stint allowed him to see a side of Singapore that few get to see, as he was involved in anti-vice raids and witnessed the work involved in keeping the island safe. He liked what he saw, and is now committed to protecting the country. The stint, an attachment he earned through winning an SPF Book Prize while in Raffles Institution (Junior College), exposed him to camaraderie within the force, and he likes the idea of such teamwork, he said.
