I do not know that Singapore government allows candidates with dual citizenship to take up scholarships.

The main problem with multiple citizenships is with allegiances: If push comes to shove, who do you root for? Yes, it’s very easy to say, “If Singapore ever goes to war, I’ll be back to serve” when Singapore is at peace. What if you were a China-Singapore dual national and Singapore goes to war against China, who do you fight for (after all, China has aspirations in the Spratlys and that’s in our extended back yard plus China is now building aircraft carriers which are only useful as an overseas projection of national power and has limited use in the defensive littoral environment)? I take issue also with the statement “humans are not meant to live in a high density environment.” Here in New York, there are 8 million people and we’re stacked up in an area even smaller than Singapore (and in Manhattan, it’s even worse).
