AsiaOne: S'poreans called to compose 'Giant Poem' will this turn into a graffiti event instead?

The Singapore River Promenade is set to be turned into one long scroll of poems this Sept 3, where all Singaporeans are called to pen their verses to compose Singapore, A Giant Poem. Taking place over one day and on a 120-m piece of paper that trawls along the river, this community project is free and open to all as it aims to capture the spirit and soul of Singapore on paper. The worldwide project, which started in Spain, has attracted thousands of participants, and collected as many poems written by the various local communities. The poems will all contribute to a wider project, The World, A Giant Poem. Besides taking part in the Giant Poem, participants can also look forward to performances, readings and a poetry slam at The Arts House to celebrate the art of poetry, and pay tribute especially to local poets and their writings.
