Presidential candidates make final broadcast speeches

Presidential hopefuls made their final broadcast speeches on Friday evening, with each candidate given 10 minutes to speak. By Rachel Chang IN A final pitch to voters before the polls open on Saturday, the four presidential candidates sought to paint a picture of what their Presidencies would be like. During the ten-minute broadcasts presidential broadcasts tonight, their last words at the hustings, the four also tried to answer criticism and assuage doubts raised by detractors. Former NTUC Income chief Tan Kin Lian highlighted the issues he would raise as President, such as the 'sacrifice' of National Service, while former MP Dr Tan Cheng Bock spoke of being a bridge between active citizen groups and the Government.
