Some 630 alight from MRT train when smoke detected

SINGAPORE : Some 630 passengers had to alight from an MRT train at Bugis station on Friday at about 3.30pm when smoke started coming out from one of the cabins. SMRT said the smoke could have been due to a gas leak from an air conditioner and posed no danger. The faulty train has been taken out of service. Passengers were delayed for about six minutes in their journey as they had to wait for the next train.
