SAF personnel in NZ exercise: SINGAPORE: Some 350 Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) personnel are in New Zealand, as

SINGAPORE: Some 350 Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) personnel are in New Zealand, as part of their annual artillery exercise codenamed Thunder Warrior. Minister of State for Defence Koo Tsai Kee visited them on Saturday morning, at the Waiouru Training Area together with New Zealand Defence Minister Wayne Mapp. The SAF personnel are from the 21st and 24th Battalions, Singapore Artillery. The exercise, which began on Monday will be on till February 1 and involves a live-firing exercise. The Ministry of Defence said associate professor Koo's visit is part of the regular ministerial exchanges between Singapore and New Zealand and underscores the close, longstanding defence relations between the two countries.
