PE: Counting of overseas votes completed #sgelections #sgpresident

SINGAPORE: The Elections Department said the counting of the overseas votes for the Presidential Election has been completed. In all, there were 3,376 overseas voters. President-elect Dr Tony Tan received the most votes, at 1296, Dr Tan Cheng Bock had 1183 votes, Mr Tan Jee Say had 709, and Mr Tan Kin Lian had 184. Voting pattern for overseas votes is similar to that of local votes, with Dr Tony Tan taking 38 per cent of the vote, Dr Tan Cheng Bock took 35 per cent, Mr Tan Jee Say was at 21 per cent and Mr Tan Kin Lian was at 0.55 per cent. Returning Officer Yam Ah Mee said that he would like to thank the more than 20,000 election officials who participated in the exercise from Nomination Day to the Polling Day to the counting process.
