The younger generation is more liberal when it comes to issues such as divorce, and those who have authoritative parents have significantly higher ratings in happiness, life satisfaction and confidence. These are among the findings of the third National Youth Survey, which polled 1,268 youths aged 15 to 34 years as well as 310 parents and caregivers of teens aged 15 to 19 years. The first two studies were published in 2003 and 2006. Compared to the last published survey, the number of youths who shared their views doubled, to about 50 per cent.
