The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) wants to gather public feedback on the proposed changes to the Work Injury Compensation Act (WICA) . This Act aims to let employees settle their work injury compensation claims in a simpler, faster and low-cost way than using common law. For example, under the WICA, a worker is not required to prove that his or her employer is at fault to claim compensation. The proposed changes, available at the REACH website (PDF), include the following: employers do not have to compensate workers injured due to workplace fights, as well as wilful or self-destructive behaviour.
