EVERYONE should catch Gareth Edwards' clever alien movie Monsters - about a couple crossing an infected area of Mexico where extra-terrestrials exist - before it leaves Singapore cinemas. And we're not simply saying this just because the 35-year-old British director (who also wrote and shot the flick) won a slew of awards at the British Independent Film Awards (including Best Director) for this. Nor is it because he impressively churned out all the film's special effects on his home computer. It's not because Monsters received worldwide critical and commercial success, and was made for approximately only US$500,000 ($642,000).
