Fewer Services Companies Upbeat About January to June 2011 Business Outlook: All respondents expect to hire in Q1 2011.

They were a key driver of Singapore's employment boom in 2010, but fewer companies in the services sector are upbeat about their business outlook as compared to last year. The quarterly Business Expectations Survey (Services Sector) First Quarter 2011 by the Department of Statistics (DOS) showed that a net weighted 19% of firms foresee favourable business prospects from January to June 2011. This is smaller than the 24% recorded between January and June 2010, as well as the 27% in the previous quarterly survey (October 2010 to March 2011). Leading the pack again of optimistic firms for the first half of 2011 are those from amusement and recreation (+61%). Trailing behind, in descending order, are:
