Sailing eyes success at 2016 Olympics

SINGAPORE - In 2003, SingaporeSailing unveiled a high performance plan which ultimately produced 16 champions at international youth level. It helped produce Asian Games champions, as well, but success at senior international competitions and at the Olympics continued to prove elusive. In light of this, SingaporeSailing have set up the Olympic Pathway Taskforce (OPT), a 15-strong committee that will plot the route for Singapore's sailors to be within striking distance of a medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. Headed by SingaporeSailing president Ben Tan, the OPT also aims to develop a holistic, comprehensive and sustainable pathway towards sustained success at the Olympics from 2016 and beyond.
