Spared jail term cos a PhD student?

I find the judgement too lenient, and disappointment over the failure of the judge to look at earlier events leading to the taunt by victim. This PHD-to-be cut lane, then stop the victim, then challenge the victim out of his vehicle before the victim makes a justifiable remarks. In my opinion, the "scum" remarks is appropriate as a reference to this kind of lane cutter and road bully. I just only hope the court would be fair in applying the same ruling on any future violence arising out of provocation. If not, can the prosecution please appeal the judgement for the sake of justice.
