SINGAPORE: Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said the upcoming budget to be delivered on February 18 should give emphasis to growing and transforming the economy. During his visit to SembWaste's Bukit Merah depot on Thursday morning, Mr Lee said this will also mean equipping all Singaporeans with the skills and ability to do better for themselves. 170 workers at SembWaste had a special treat when Mr Lee dropped in for a visit, giving away hong baos and oranges. These 170 workers, made up of waste collection drivers and crew, administrative staff and maintenance workers, represent the thousands who keep Singapore going despite the holiday shutdown. With strong economic performance, Mr Lee noted that workers have also benefited from better wage adjustments and bonuses.
