Indonesia to expand overseas operational offices

INDONESIA: Indonesia is looking into setting up operational offices overseas to look after the interests of the country's nationals working as domestic workers. Head of the National Board for the Placement and Protection of Overseas Workers Jumhur Hidayat told Channel NewsAsia the plan is part of a major revision to the law relating to placement of domestic workers overseas. Mr Jumhur was responding to queries about reports Indonesia plans to send domestic workers only to four regions overseas. He denied the report and said all the proposals are still being discussed and are expected to be submitted to parliament by the year's end for approval. "We'll try it in... Malaysia, Saudi Arabia...
