Central banks therefore need to be nimble with their monetary policy in order to respond to these shocks, said Mr Abdul Abiad, deputy division chief of the IMF's research department. 'Yes, it is a concern... If previously the worry was just this flood of capital (in), the worry now is if it can flood in, it can quickly go out as well. 'With a muddling through policy response, this could go on for a while. If there is a stronger policy response, which we hope is the case, then that could be stemmed.'
