Security is the leading risk businesses face for the second year in a row according to a survey released by the Symantec Corp., which gathered responses on cybersecurity from the IT department of various organisations. Ninety-five per cent of survey respondents suffered damages as a result of cyberattacks, but more reported a decline in the number and frequency of attacks compared to 2010. The survey also revealed that the number of organisations which saw attacks in the past 12 months (67 per cent) remain the same as in 2010 (66 per cent). Fewer companies also suffered smaller losses from cyberattacks in 2011 (95 per cent) than the previous year (100 per cent), although 20 per cent of respondents said that the frequency of attacks on their companies increased in 2011.
