Why is POSB asking cardholders to spend more to win prizes, asks our reader. Isn't it supposed to be helping us save?

But I have begun to wonder whether the "S" in its name stands for "Savings", or "Spending" - after seeing its advertisements encouraging credit or debit cardholders to spend a minimum of $88 in a single receipt, excluding recurring bill payment and online transactions, and in return, win prizes.
