225 Singaporeans returned from Egypt the past week: MFA: SINGAPORE: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says 225 Sin...

SINGAPORE: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says 225 Singaporeans, including 190 students, have returned to Singapore from Egypt over the past week. It says while the majority of Singaporeans have returned home, a small number have chosen to remain in Egypt. The Ministry says the Singapore Embassy in Cairo will continue to maintain regular contact with the Singaporeans still there, and provide the necessary consular assistance. It has also advised those still remaining to be vigilant, exercise extreme caution and avoid the troubled areas. Since the onset of the crisis in Egypt on January 25, the Singapore Embassy in Cairo has worked with MUIS and the Singapore Student Welfare Organisation, PERKEMAS, to ensure the safety and well-being of students in Egypt.
